A Keyword is a technical word or phrase on your website that matches the words and phrases people enter into search engines.
What is Keyword Analysis in SEO – Introduction
You have created a website based on your expertise, or a website for your organization.
On that website, you have created some valuable information, a list of your services or your products. You naturally want your content or products to reach a wide range of internet users.
We use some words or phrases based on an idea of what users might be searching for. These relevant words or phrases can reach you to your desired customers.

What is Keywords
We create keywords by choosing words or phrases based on the users’ intent. To be more precise, you will use words or phrases on your webpage that match the users’ intent.
The idea is to use words or phrases in the same language or nearly the same words or phrases as users when they query their search, so that you rank higher in their organic search results based on relevance.
The result is that no matter what purpose you are building a website for, whether you are a business man or an individual, the more keyword analysis you do, the more you will be able to reach your customers.
Keywords Analysis
Let’s understand the matter from the very beginning. Suppose Mr. X got hungry and went to Google and searched for online food delivery. What will Google do? Google will bring the addresses of some websites that provide online food delivery to the SERP. Mr. X will then visit the first two or three websites of the SERP and order food from the one he likes.
But Google found countless results for Mr. X. But Mr. X did not go anywhere after the first page of those results. Most people do not go.
Therefore, if you want your product to reach your desired customer, first of all you have to target the audience.
Then you have to think about the intent of that customer.
And you have to do a keyword analysis that is compatible with that intent.
Finally, you want your product to rank in the search engine. For that, you have to do a relevant keyword analysis.
Why is Relevant Keyword Analysis Important
Relevant keywords define your products, services, or content and help search engines and web users understand what your content is about.
On the other hand, keyword analysis can help you determine more keywords that help search engines connect with your desired customers.
Why Relevant Keyword Analysis is Relevant
- Keywords that are relevant for your target audience
- Keywords that are realistic to rank for
- Keywords that Carry business value
- Keywords that are actually searched for
What is the benefit of doing keyword analysis
- Boosts organic traffic by targeting the right audience.
- Helps in optimizing content for better rankings.
- Aids in understanding market trends and user intent.
SEO Keyword Research
The process of finding keywords after understanding the customer’s intent is called keyword research.
Including the right keywords on your website is the first step of keyword research.
Replacing the right keywords on the right page is the second step of keyword research.
Types of Keywords:
Short-tail keywords (e.g., “video editing”)
- A short-tail keyword, also known as a ‘head term’, is a general search term that typically contains 1-3 words and covers a broad topic.
Long-tail keywords (e.g., “professional video editing services in Kolkata”)
- Long-tail keywords are longer and more specific keyword phrases that visitors are more likely to use.
LSI keywords and their role in SEO
- LSI (Latent Semantic Indexing) keywords have come to be understood as words or phrases related to the primary keyword. For example, if your article is about Video Editing, it may include “Video Raw Footage” “Graphics Content”, “Television Content Edit” and “Film Edit” as LSI keywords.
How to Research Keywords:
- Identify high-volume, low-competition keywords
- Analyze competitors’ keywords
- Understand user intent behind keywords
Keyword Tools Research
You can use keyword research tools to get a basic idea of keyword research. There are many websites that will help you to do keyword research according to user intent.
However, I personally recommend that you use Google Keyword Planner or Witty Rank in the beginning, the main reason being that it is completely free.
When you get comfortable with keyword research, you can go for the advance options like SEMrush or Ahrefs.
Keyword Gap:
To stay competitive, whether you seek out friends or not, you must keep an eye on your competitors. That is, identify which keyword weapons your closest competitor is honing to defeat you.
Knowing this will allow you to bring your site directly to the same level as your competitors, and will also help you find ways to generate new content ideas for yourself.
If you are not able to bridge this gap with your closest competitor, your SEO competitors will always be one step ahead of you.
4 Types of Keyword in SEO
SEO keywords are terms added to online content in order to improve search engine rankings for those terms.
Most keywords are discovered during the keyword research process and are chosen based on a combination of search volume, competition and commercial intent.
Keeping SEO in mind, four types of keyword categories are chosen. These categories basically reflect the general purpose behind users’ searches.
Categories Are:
Informational:
- When the user searches for a topic to gain knowledge.
Navigational:
- When a user searches for a specific website or webpage.
Commercial:
- When users research brands, products, or services.
Transactional:
- When the user wants to complete an action (for example, make a purchase)
Common Mistakes to Avoid:
Choosing Irrelevant keywords:
- Irrelevant keywords are search queries that it doesn’t match for your website or webpage to rank for. These search terms don’t bring into line with your business goals or your content’s purpose.
Ignoring Search Intent:
- Understanding the search intent is crucial before you start.
- For example, when you choose keywords to sell a laptop, your content will be commercial. But when you compare a laptop and a desktop, your content will be informational.
Overlooking Long-Tail Keywords:
- However, if you are focus solely on the popular keywords, it can cause you to overlook an undervalued gem.
